In recent years, "quantum" topics such as quantum computing, quantum cryptography, and quantum measurement have gained worldwide attention. These fields have developed as part of efforts to understand the fundamental nature of quanta, the smallest units of matter. Recently, there has been a global push to translate these principles into practical applications.
In our group, we develop innovative technologies using photons, the fundamental units of light, to create optical quantum circuits and quantum measurement systems. In particular, we leverage silicon photonics technology to integrate large-scale optical systems onto a chip roughly 1 cm in size. Our research focuses on exploring the unique properties of quantum mechanics and applying them to computation and measurement.
