Dec / 24th - 27th / 2012 Optical measurements in ISSP
We measured optical properties, such as photoluminescence and electroluminescence, of p-n heterostructure consisting of GaN grown on Si substrate, under a collaborative help of Prof.Akiyama and Dr.Kim and Mr.Nakamae in ISSP, Univ. of Tokyo. We found a significant emission peak located at higher energy than normal GaN bandbap transition, which we expect from the distorted cystal lattice of GaN with columuner shapes.

Mar / 11th / 2011 Big earthquack hit Tohoku Area
Big earthquack with magnitude 9.0 occured at east coast of Tohoku Sanriku Area. The earthquack triggered extremely destructive Tsunami waves of up to 40.5 metres. Many people's lives were gone with this disaster. The coast area received catastrophic damages, and the radioactive materials began to leak out in the air from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. The effort to stop the leackage has been continued still now. (Aug 2011, the recovery effort in the power plant are still tough going. )

Researchers is needed to get heads together and collaborate to rebuild the damaged Japan.
It is the time to think about how to use technology for true development in human futures and civilizations.
